Raven's Corner Shop

About Us

Raven's Corner Shop is located on the Northwestern tip of Washington State on the Makah Indian Reservation in Neah Bay.

We are near the heart of the tribal village, and one block from the Makah Cultural and Research Center.  Our Business is nestled in a residential area welcoming visitors to the community.

The business was established in 1992 by Makah Tribal member Melissa Peterson-Renault.  Melissa is a master basket weaver, drum maker,  jewelry designer, caterer, smoked fish-cook, author, storyteller and cultural arts instructor.

Our business includes an art and craft section featuring local artists. Raven's Corner carries hand crafted  basketry, masks, carvings, drums, traditional olive shell and silver jewelry, prints, paintings and rattles.  We also carry items such as  t-shirts, mugs, books, and a variety of hand- made crafts.

We have a certified commercial kitchen for small catered events, smoked fish and professionally prepared food.

Another feature of the shop is a 14-student capacity classroom which also serves as the seating area for the small catered events.

We will offer a range of weekend  Classes.  We will also accommodate families or friends that would like to have a class just for themselves and don't mind sharing sleeping space.

Day and/or evening art classes will be offered in late fall and winter.

Raven's Corner offers hands on culture workshops at the facility.  Mini-Workshops are two-hour art and craft sessions scheduled on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The mini-workshops can be combined to create a artful/creative weekend for friends or family.

*During Fall and Winter the owner works on art projects, so Raven's Corner is periodically closed. Calling is recommended.  (360 645-2074)
